Design Management
Five years inside the UK's most attended regional producing theatre, working across every visual touchpoint, from a brand consolidation that unified a large organisation to campaigns for landmark cultural moments. Ran the full print and digital output for a venue serving 500,000 annual visitors, with templates from this period still in active use.
A design function built from scratch into the connective layer across every channel, from flytower projection to email footer. Sustainability and accessibility standards set during this period are still company policy.
Identity & systems
Theatre Royal Plymouth had an established brand, but visual output across the organisation had fragmented over time. The work was about refinement and coherence: consolidating a chaotic set of assets into a unified system, then becoming the central conduit for every visual output the organisation produced.
This meant redesigning tickets, wallet cards, and seasonal leaflets, rebuilding social and email templates, and producing a comprehensive style guide that gave every department a consistent visual language to work from.
Collateral & signage
The print output spanned everything from pocket-sized bookmarks to large-scale foyer and exterior graphics, serving a patron base that skewed traditional while the identity was being pushed in a more contemporary direction.
This meant publication design for seasonal programmes and stakeholder reports, direct mail, festival collateral, out of home advertising from bus stops to billboards, and full physical suites for major cultural events, as well as environmental graphics integrated into the building itself.
Web, social & motion
The digital output was built around a template system covering every channel the organisation used: the website, email marketing, social media, and front-of-house screens.
The goal was consistency across departments, so the brand held regardless of who was producing the asset or what platform it was going out on.
